Before celebrities, nightclubs, and luxury resorts, Miami Beach was a shifting world of mangroves, coral, water, and extraordinary biodiversity. This exhibit explores the forgotten history of the countless workers who transformed the landscape of Miami Beach and whose names rarely appear in the official histories. Through photographs the convergence of geology, ecology, labor, memory, and imagination forms a new image of the iconic beachside.
