Save a story of someone you love or a history you would love to know. Learn how to create an oral history project from start to finish. You will also be able to practice interviewing your fellow participants. Watch effective (and ineffective) oral history interviews of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison, and civil rights activist Gloria Richardson. We’ll develop the skills you need for high-quality projects: Choosing your narrator and goals Preparing questions Mastering effective interview techniques Protecting your narrator’s right to privacy and dignity Knowing production methods and the equipment needed to record, preserve, and share your interviews
