America 250 Quilt Hanging Project: America the Beautiful

To celebrate America’s 250th Birthday, quilters from across the country have come together to create a one-of-a-kind community art installation in downtown Fredericksburg. The America 250 Quilt Hanging Project was conceived by Christine Lush-Rodriguez of Artful Dimensions and Joan Geisler of the Virginia Star Quilters Guild as a way to bring communities together through art, creativity, and patriotism during the nation’s Semiquincentennial celebration. The project features handcrafted quilt panels inspired by this year’s theme, “America the Beautiful.” Each quilt reflects the landscapes, history, people, and spirit that make America unique while celebrating 250 years of our shared story.
