September Second Friday: Music and Color

Join us for the September Second Friday: Music and Color at the Smith College Museum of Art, taking place from 4–8 p.m. Experience an evening filled with art, creativity, and community, with galleries open until 8 p.m. and free admission for all. From 4–7 p.m., participate in hands-on art making in the Boeckman Sculpture Court, where all ages are welcome to create a ripped paper collage inspired by the music that influenced artist Alma Thomas. Additionally, you can help shape the museum's next display by voting for your favorite bird-themed artworks at the Cunningham Center from 4–7 p.m. Enjoy a drop-in screening of the documentary short "Miss Alma Thomas: A Life in Color" from 5–7 p.m. in Graham Hall, and savor live jazz performances on the museum’s front porch from 5–8 p.m., in collaboration with the Northampton Jazz Festival.
