Porters Cove Paddle

Join park staff on a guided ecotour of Porters Cove. Scan any shoreline and you are likely to spot a Great Blue Heron fishing in the shallows. Paddle into a cove, and you are likely to hear the sudden rattle of a kingfisher as it swoops from branch to branch. Learn about these birds and more as we paddle along. A brief introduction to kayaking will take place onshore before we hit the cove. Kayak and gear provided or bring your own. Limited spots are available. Life jackets are required to be worn by all. Ages 12 and up, under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration required. Registration will open on Wednesday, August 26th at 8:00AM. To use a park boat, register online on the DCNR Calendar of Events. If you would like to bring your own boat, email: moraineenvedsp@pa.gov . You must receive a confirmation email to attend the program. We will meet at the Porters Cove Boat Launch.
