Explore the fascinating origins and evolution of Impressionism across the worlds of visual art, music and poetry. This engaging program will examine the distinctive styles, ideas and influences that shaped the Impressionist movement, while highlighting the contributions of its major artists, composers and poets. Through performances of Impressionist music and poetry, accompanied by thoughtful discussion and historical context, participants will experience how Impressionism transformed artistic expression and paved the way for new creative movements, including Surrealism. This program is presented by Steve Pollack, a versatile performer and lecturer experienced in R&B, standards, jazz, blues, musical theater, operetta and grand opera. He has performed at premier theaters and opera houses, including Philadelphia’s renowned Walnut Street Theatre, as well as cabarets and private events. Steve was an original member of Peter Nero’s Voices of the Pops.
