Dessert and a Movie: Food Inc., 2

Whip up your favorite dessert and join us to discuss a film which we have watched in advance on Kanopy, a free service accessible online using your Lawrence Library card number and pin. The groundbreaking Oscar-nominated documentary Food Inc. (2008) ignited a world wide conversation about the multinational corporations that control our food system at enormous cost to our planet, our workforce, and our health.  Food Inc., 2 (2023) returns to the topic, noting the corporate strangle-hold still tightens, but there are farming alternatives, educators, activists and legislators who are facing these companies head-on to inspire change and create a healthier, sustainable future.  We'll speak with some local farmers and ranchers who are working overtime to feed us well and reverse this alarming trend.The zoom link will be emailed to all registrants the day prior.
