Students Explore Engineering at Purdue

Katie and Lily attended Engineering FYI at Purdue University over the weekend on behalf of Clinton Prairie Both girls had a wonderful experience touring Purdue and exploring the School of Engineering! Engineering FYI is a Purdue University on-campus event inaugurated in 2012 designed to increase interest in engineering for students who have recently completed sixth, seventh and eighth grade. The Women in Engineering (WiE) Program hosts this daylong event during the summer in West Lafayette. The event is for students who have an interest in learning more about engineering and would like to connect with Purdue Engineering student mentors and peer participants. Students are able to apply their imagination and creativity to hands-on projects while collaborating in small teams and investigating a variety of engineering disciplines. Students obtain an excellent opportunity to hone their leadership skills, make new friends and experience how engineers help shape our world!
