Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail Thru Hike

Join Laurel Hill & Ohiopyle State Parks for a challenge of a lifetime. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail, DCNR is hosting a fully guided 8 day 7 night thru hike of the entire trail from August 22nd to August 29th. We will hike southbound from Johnstown all the way to Ohiopyle. We’ll stick together as a group and overnight at backpacking shelters along the way. We will provide support by facilitated food ressuply along the way. Open to ages 14+. Don't miss this chance to celebrate our beloved Highlands trail and see every mile of it. Participants need to have prior backpacking experience and be able to hike an average of 8-10 miles per day for 8 days. Pre-Registration is required for this program.
