The Welcoming Center – English for Job Search Class

The Kennett Library, in partnership with The Welcoming Center, is offering various literacy programs to support job seekers and young readers. The "English for Job Search" class is a 16-week program designed for individuals with intermediate English skills who are looking for employment. Participants will learn important job-related language and computer skills, such as creating resumes, writing professional emails, and conducting practice interviews, while connecting with a community of fellow job seekers. Registration is required by August 7th. Additionally, the "PAWS for Kids" program invites children to improve their reading skills by reading aloud to therapy pets. This initiative helps reluctant or struggling readers gain confidence in a supportive environment. Sessions are divided into 15-minute slots to ensure personalized attention, and participants must be supervised by a caregiver.
