*EVENT FULL* Weed Warrior Workday at Rock Creek Regional (Sweetbirch Dr area)

Save the trees and protect the stream valley ecosystem Join Weed Warrior Supervisor Monica for a non-native, invasive plant removal workday in Rock Creek Regional Park in Rockville. We will focus on non-native, invasive vines and shrubs, including roundleaf bittersweet (Celastrus orbiculatus), porcelainberry (Ampelopsis glandulosa var. brevipedunculata), Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii), and multiflora rose (Rosa multiflora). Please note, the barberry and multiflora rose have thorns! We will meet on the sidewalk on Sweetbirch Drive, close to 15602 Cliff Swallow Way. Click here for a map. Street parking is available. The exact meeting location will be emailed to all pre-registrants prior to the event. Please wear long pants that cover your ankles, tall socks, long sleeves, and sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Bring gloves, pruners, small folding hand saws and/or loppers if you have them. Gardening-type gloves and tools are available to borrow if you don’t have your own. No power tools
