In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, tapas are often regarded as elaborately plated haute cuisine, but they don’t have to be complicated or difficult to prepare. Some of the most delicious bites can be created simply at home using seasonal ingredients sourced locally. The preparation and consumption of these dishes can be an enjoyable communal experience with family and friends and a great reason to bring people together for a shared experience that nourishes the body and the mind. Attendees will participate in the preparing, cooking, and enjoying of two Spanish-tapas-inspired dishes as well as a paired non-alcoholic beverage. The recipes are intended to be approachable and easily executed in the home kitchen. Food Allergen Notice: shellfish, gluten, allium, and capsaicin. Chef David Kriz: David’s formal training is in science. He graduated with honors and a B.A. in Inorganic Chemistry from Connecticut College in 2011 and continued his studies at the University of Connecticut. I
