Summer Nights Nature Journal Hike

Join park staff on this evening nature journal hike through the park. As twilight settles in the forest, how does the landscape change? When do the first fireflies appear? Which birds sing the latest? How do the scents change as the sun dips below the ridge and the air begins to cool? We will explore these sensory questions and more on this slow paced, investigative walk. Participants are encouraged to bring their own nature journal – as we walk the trail we will stop at various points to draw and/or write about our observations. If you don’t have a journal (which can be as simple as a notebook or some stapled together sheets of paper – nothing fancy required), we will have them to share – but you must email SPresogna@pa.gov to reserve one. This will be a walk for quiet contemplation and observing together. We hope you join us! Registration is required - spaces are limited.
