Partial Eclipse of the Park

Will you be in Mallorca on August 12? How about Greenland? If instead you'll be right here in Pennsylvania, you can still catch (a small piece of) today's solar eclipse! As we are near the edge of the path of this event, we'll be treated to an eclipse of .162 magnitude and 7.69% obscuration. What do these numbers mean? Briefly: We'll get to see a small bite get taken out of the Sun. For a more in-depth explanation, plus safe solar viewing, stop by the Marina Visitor Center between 1PM and 2:30PM! Bucks-Mont Astronomical Association and the park naturalist will be outside offering views of the Sun through safe viewing scopes, glasses, and other nifty devices. We'll also have lots of information on eclipses, Sunspots, and answers to all your burning solar questions. Stop by any time during the eclipse window, no registration required!
