Designing Democracy for the Internet Age

As the United States turns 250, our public discourse has hit a new low, in large part because of the way the internet and social media are designed. This talk looks at how today's information systems reward speed, confidence, and performance over understanding and deliberation. It also asks what a healthier civic information environment could look like, and how we get there.
