Summer Storybook Stroll

Experience the joys of nature and storytelling this summer at the Summer Storybook Stroll, happening in July and August 2026. Bring your little ones for a delightful ½ mile self-guided walk in the park, featuring the captivating story “A Chip Off the Old Block” by Jody Jensen Shaffer. Follow Rocky, a determined pebble, on his journey to discover his place among his famous rock-formation relatives. The trail, suitable for little feet and strollers, begins at the end of Landis Road, with storybook pages posted along the route. Don't forget to sign the Visitor Booklet at the end! Additionally, enhance your nature exploration by signing out one of our Nature Exploration Backpacks for the day from our Camp Host. Choose from topics like Birds, Insects, Plants/Fungi, or Rocks & Minerals, each equipped with field supplies to encourage curiosity and learning. Whether strolling through the park or discovering the wonders of nature, this event promises a fun-filled adventure for the whole family!
