Changing Lanes: A Film Screening and Panel Discussion about Safer Streets

Curious about why streets are designed the way they are, and how they can be safer for pedestrians and cyclists? Join the Lawrence Coalition for Safe Streets and the Lawrence Public Library for a screening of the documentary Changing Lanes, followed by a panel discussion with the filmmaker and street safety advocates from Brooklyn, Kansas City, Wichita, and Lawrence.Changing Lanes, directed by Ben Wolf, follows a Greenpoint, Brooklyn community's fight to redesign McGuinness Boulevard into a safer, two-lane street with protected bike lanes after a beloved teacher was killed in a hit-and-run crash.
